Actives Area
To be considered an active
To be considered active in HKN you must complete the following each
semester:
- Two service hours
- Two social hours
- Two hours in any category (limit 1 social)
- Two pledge/active meetings
Special Notes
- Two service hours may be substituted for the two pledge meetings if
actives have valid reasons for not being able to attend the meetings (i.e.
class).
- Excess hours go towards the Best Active Award.
- A member can earn a maximum of two hours if we win broomball or one
hour if we lose broomball.
Benefits of Being Active
- Attend the end of semester banquet for free (with a date!)
- Get a free HKN t-shirt
- Wear HKN stole if active your graduating semester
- Interact with new pledges and other members
Actives are also eligible and encouraged to apply for chair positions on
officer teams and publishing. This allows actives to not only help HKN
accomplish more but also aid those who wish to run for office in a subsequent
semester by equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary for each
office.
