Course Notes Publishing

General Information

HKN Course Notes Publishing is the most prominent of HKN's services to the ECE department. HKN Publising provides a professional service to the faculty by printing, binding, and laminating course notes for classes in the spring, summer, and fall semesters.

We strive to maintain a high level of quality in our course notes. Thus, we constantly seek to improve our services by changing the cover designs and lamination materials every semester.

Course notes costs

Faculty guidelines for publishing with HKN

This section details what HKN expects from you and what you can expect from HKN during the publishing process.

Preparing your notes

Format
HKN accepts notes in both hard copy and computer format.
Copy quality
The quality of the course notes will be affected by the quality of your hard copy.
Presentation slides
If you are printing slides (i.e. a PowerPoint presentation), please consider printing more than one slide per page to reduce the cost of printing your notes.
Other considerations
Please consider including page numbers and a table of contents.

Submitting your notes

Where to turn in notes
You may drop off notes in the drop-off box in the ENS mailroom (ENS 139) or in the HKN Office (ENS 129).
Deadlines
The publishing process can take up to two weeks. Please allow us enough time to get your notes ready for sale by the time the semester starts.
Originals
Please retain a copy of your notes for your own records.

Binding and special requests

Our standard binding is a black comb with laminated front and back cardstock covers. Other available options include stapled packets and three-ring binders.

We always welcome special instructions that abide with our general policies.
